The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as the Amotekun Corps, has arrested 46 suspected criminals across the state’s 18 local government areas.
Among those paraded was a couple, Samson Osowe (28) and his wife, Ayo Oguneso (22), accused of burgling the residence of former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mrs. Jumoke Akindele, in Okitipupa.
Seven stolen mobile phones and other valuables were recovered, and an attempt to smuggle the items to Lagos was foiled.
Amotekun Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed that the suspects, along with their accomplice and transporter, would face trial. He assured that the recovered items would be returned to the former Speaker.
Beyond the burglary case, Adeleye disclosed that 13 suspects were arrested for kidnapping, two for violating the anti-open grazing law, and 31 others for offences including cultism, illegal possession of firearms, theft, and breach of peace.
