Media personality and Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has slammed Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, over recent attack on the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi.
Obi, on Monday called for President
Tinubu to emulate the U.K. Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, by tendering his
resignation, citing the administration’s inability to tackle the nation’s
economic and security crisis.
Responding to Obi’s call, Onanuga, in a statement, described
Obi’s position as puerile, stating that the former governor of Anambra State is
being childish.
Reacting to the backlash during a morning program on
Tuesday, Rufai Oseni recalled how the All Progressives Congress, APC, called
for a parallel government prior to 2015 when the party took over the
government.
According to Rufai, the same maladministration that prompted
APC’s call in 2014 is currently being witnessed in the Tinubu-led government.
He said, “Was the APC also childish when it called for the
resignation of Goodluck Jonathan? What they said Jonathan should resign for has
happened under them too.
“This was the same APC that called for a parallel government
if they didn’t win the 2015 election. Do you know what parallel government is?
That’s anarchy.
“They didn’t only say it, they went to defend it on
television. So Obi called for resignation and they said it is puerile”.
