Direct Your 90-Day Order to Tinubu not Service Chiefs – Bode George tells Adeboye

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has urged Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), to direct his 90-day ultimatum on insecurity to President Bola Tinubu rather than the service chiefs.

Adeboye, in a recent sermon, lamented Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and suggested that service chiefs should resign if they fail to restore peace within 90 days. But George, in a statement on Friday, faulted the cleric’s position, stressing that the Commander-in-Chief bears ultimate responsibility.

“That advice should be given to the President, not the service chiefs. He is the person responsible for making sure all Nigerians are protected and safe,” George said.

He likened the situation to a newspaper editor being held accountable for the work of line editors, noting that Tinubu appointed the service chiefs and has the authority to demand improvement or replace them.

George emphasized that while Adeboye’s concern is valid, accountability must rest squarely on the president’s shoulders.
