Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has cautioned Nigerians against electing Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Monday, Lawal described Atiku’s potential presidency as a looming disaster.
“Atiku’s hurricane will consume you, it will swallow you,” he warned, insisting that the country would face grave consequences if Atiku emerged victorious.
Lawal, who fell out with Atiku after the ADC primary elections, further stated that if forced to choose between Atiku and President Bola Tinubu, he would prefer Tinubu despite his criticisms of the current administration.
“As bad as Tinubu’s presidency is now, he would be an excellent president compared to Atiku,” he added.
