Demola Olarenwaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming its policies have worsened poverty across Nigeria.
Speaking during an interview on Vanguard Politics Hub, Olarenwaju described Tinubu’s government as a “360-degree failure,” arguing that economic instability under his leadership has deepened hardship to the point that former President Muhammadu Buhari now “looks like a saint” in comparison.
“Tinubu’s biggest achievement is making Nigeria poorer. He has made poverty worse; he has made Buhari look like a saint,” Olarenwaju said.
He pointed to skyrocketing fuel prices as an example, noting that the cost of petroleum under Tinubu’s government is nearly ten times higher than during Buhari’s tenure. According to him, this has placed unbearable strain on ordinary Nigerians.
Olarenwaju’s remarks add to growing criticism of Tinubu’s economic reforms, which many argue have eroded purchasing power and intensified hardship nationwide.
