Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated his Ekiti counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, on his landslide victory in the recently concluded governorship election.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described Oyebanji’s re-election as an affirmation of the people’s confidence in his leadership and a recognition of the progress achieved during his first term.
He expressed optimism that Oyebanji’s second term would consolidate the gains of his administration.“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Osun State, I rejoice with my brother governor and share the optimism of Ekiti people that his next term will be a continuation of the impactful services that marked his first term,” Adeleke said.
Similarly, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) hailed Oyebanji’s victory, describing it as proof of the party’s popularity and the people’s preference for continuity of governance.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the party said the outcome demonstrated trust in the APC’s leadership.
An APC chieftain in Osun, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, also congratulated Oyebanji, noting that the Ekiti result was a resounding endorsement of his performance.
He expressed confidence that the APC would replicate the victory in Osun’s August 15 governorship election, citing unity and grassroots engagement as key drivers of success.
Oyebanji was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after polling 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rival, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 40,543 votes.
