Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has vowed that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State will face a stern political lesson ahead of the 2027 elections.
Fayose made the declaration during a recent interview on Channels Television, accusing Makinde of undermining the South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and seizing his political structure.
“Makinde destroyed the South West PDP and took my structure,” Fayose said. “When we are in politics, we are meant to be fair.”
He warned that disrespect would be met with consequences, stating: “If you respect me, you will get all my values and support, but if you disrespect me, you will get the downside of Fayose. I’m not a politician that is taken for granted.”
Fayose also claimed that Makinde had “stolen the land of the deities,” suggesting spiritual repercussions, and described the Oyo governor’s presidential declaration as a major misstep that betrayed trust.
“Elections are not far away again. We will get there,” he added. The outspoken PDP chieftain emphasized that while Makinde has the right to contest for higher office, betraying political alliances would not go unpunished
