Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to the nation’s capital after successfully representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration ceremony in Benin Republic.
Shettima departed Abuja earlier to stand in for the President at the swearing-in of Benin’s new leadership.
His return was confirmed on Monday as he touched down in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to sources close to the Vice President, Shettima is now proceeding to the APC’s International Conference Centre (ICC) for the formal ratification of President Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The move is seen as a significant step in consolidating party support ahead of the next electoral cycle, signaling early preparations within the ruling party.
Further details on the ratification process and expected attendees at the ICC event are expected to be released shortly.
