Former lawmaker Jibrin Abdulmumin has defended President Bola Tinubu, insisting the president genuinely likes the North and has supported the region throughout his career.
Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Abdulmumin described criticisms and claims that Tinubu is anti-North as baseless propaganda meant to tarnish the president’s image.
He dismissed allegations of unfair appointments and neglect of the North as “false narratives and lies concocted just to paint the president black.”
“Tinubu continues to remain the most influential politician in Nigeria,” Abdulmumin said, adding that the president has shown clear support for Northerners all his life.
The statement comes as political activities intensify ahead of future elections, with some Northern voices questioning Tinubu’s policies and appointments.
