Tinubu Appoints Maj. Gen. Fadewa (Rtd) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa (Rtd) as the Special Adviser to the President on Homeland Security.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, underscores the administration’s commitment to bolstering Nigeria’s internal security architecture amid evolving threats including banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, and other forms of domestic instability.

Major General Fadewa, a seasoned retired officer of the Nigerian Army with extensive experience in military intelligence and strategic operations, brings decades of expertise to the role.

His appointment is expected to enhance coordination between security agencies, strengthen intelligence gathering, and support the development of comprehensive strategies to safeguard the nation’s homeland.

This move forms part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reposition and reinforce Nigeria’s security framework for greater efficiency and responsiveness to contemporary challenges.

Further details regarding the scope of his responsibilities and any supporting team will be communicated by the Presidency in due course.
