Mudashiru Obasa, speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has declared his intention to contest the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections.
Obasa, a sixth-term lawmaker representing Agege Constituency
I, has been a member of the state legislature since 2003.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday in Agege,
ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, Obasa said
consultations influenced his decision to formally join the race.
He shared that party leaders in his constituency encouraged
him to hurl his hat into the federal legislative ring.
He called on APC members to embrace unity and remain
committed as the party prepares for its primary elections.
“I answered the call of our leaders and stakeholders who
believe I can serve Agege better,” he said.
He also appealed for support for Ganiyu Egunjobi, former
chairman of Agege LGA, who intends to represent Agege Constituency I in the
Lagos assembly.
“Egunjobi has served our people diligently and deserves the
support of all loyal party members,” the speaker said.
Obasa further canvassed support for Azeez Ninolowo, an
aspirant for Agege constituency II.
He noted that the constituency needs experienced and
dedicated representatives who understand the challenges confronting residents.
“We must present candidates with capacity, loyalty, and
commitment to the progress of Agege,” he added.
