The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has issued a stark warning that Nigeria could face collapse or severe instability if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins a second term in 2027.
Speaking in a recent interview, Baba-Ahmed described the country as being in one of its most difficult periods, marked by escalating insecurity, record poverty levels, and deepening social divisions.
He criticised the current administration for being disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, particularly the youth, who he said are losing hope amid limited opportunities and a lack of national direction.
“The country is more divided now than it has ever been,” Baba-Ahmed stated. “We’ve never been in a war situation more than we are now. We have a government that is too removed from the people.”
He added: “Another term for the same administration may just put an end to this country.”Baba-Ahmed stressed the need for urgent political change in 2027 to reverse the current drift.
He dismissed claims that opposition to the President is a coordinated political plot, instead attributing public discontent to genuine hardships, rising criminality, and the government’s inability to tackle insecurity effectively.
