Murtala Sule Garo has been sworn in as the deputy governor of Kano State.
Garo was sworn in by the state’s Chief Judge in the presence
of Governor Abba Yusuf in Kano.
Reacting, a former media aide to the late ex-President
Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad posted on X: “Congratulations to H.E. Murtala
Sule Garo on his inauguration as the Deputy Governor of Kano State.
“I wish him great success in this new role as he works
alongside Gov. Abba K. Yusuf to advance the development and prosperity of our
dear state.”
Garo, who previously served as Commissioner for Local
Government Affairs in Kano State, was nominated to replace former Deputy
Governor Abdussalam Gwarzo.
The deputy governorship position became vacant following the
resignation of former Deputy Governor, Abdussalam Gwarzo, on March 27, 2026.
