Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has backed Paris Saint-Germain to retain the UEFA Champions League title when they face Arsenal in the final in Budapest, Hungary, on Saturday.
Kane, whose Bayern side were knocked out by PSG in the semi-finals on a 6-5 aggregate, told ESPN on Thursday that the French giants had earned their status as favourites going into the showpiece.
“It is really even. PSG are obviously the reigning champions and that gives them an edge. But Arsenal have been incredible this season,” he said.
The England captain, however, said he had yet to decide whether he would watch the final after his frustrating exit.
“Everyone who watched the game will have the same decision. How you give the handball last week and don’t give it this week, both are just crazy.
“PSG should have had a clear second yellow card. He [the referee] changed his mind, maybe the atmosphere got to him,” he said.
Kane also hailed Arsenal as a formidable opponent despite tipping their opponents to win.
“It’s two different styles playing against each other but I think it will be a really even test. Both teams have good qualities and can be dangerous.
“Two totally different teams in the way they play but two very strong teams. It will be an interesting final, for sure,” he told Sky Sports.
PSG, the defending champions, face Arsenal, who won their first Premier League title in 22 years last week, in the final on Saturday.
The Gunners are seeking a first European Cup in their history.
