Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq has officially endorsed Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki as his preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
Seriki, who hails from Kwara Central Senatorial District, will now contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket against 15 other aspirants in the party primaries scheduled to hold on Thursday.
The endorsement by Governor Abdulrazaq is seen as a significant boost for Seriki’s ambition, given the governor’s influence within the Kwara APC structure.
It effectively positions the ambassador as the anointed candidate of the ruling administration in the state.
