The lawmaker representing Surulere I in the Lagos State
House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, says the Chief of Staff to the President,
Femi Gbajabiamila, will cool down when he is ready.
Elliot said this during an interview with BBC Pidgin,
stressing that he had already apologised.
The Nollywood veteran-turned politician said Nigeria is
operating a democracy and not a military regime.
When asked about his relationship with Gbajabiamila, Elliot
said the former Speaker of the House of Representatives is his superior.
He said everyone knows that he has been loyal to
Gbajabiamila, stressing that the Chief of Staff loves him as his own son.
“I’ve said sorry to Gbajabiamila and he’ll cool down when
he’s ready. I’m not the one to tell him when to be calm. We are in a democracy
and not a military regime.
“There’s no how in this life that a father and a son have a
disagreement and they won’t settle their differences.
“People should not blow the little misunderstanding out of
proportion,” he said.
