Former Governor of Bayelsa State and prominent NDC leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, has officially welcomed Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR, former Deputy President of the Senate, and Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, into the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
As part of the induction, Dickson announced that both high-profile defectors have been granted waivers to contest the party’s senatorial primaries scheduled for tomorrow in their respective districts.
Speaking on the development, Dickson said the move was the result of extensive consultations over several weeks aimed at bolstering the NDC’s structure, particularly in the South-South region and across Nigeria.
“The party is delighted to receive these distinguished leaders,” he stated, urging all members to extend full support, cooperation, and unity to the new entrants as the NDC continues its strategic expansion.
Party leadership described the induction as a significant step in its broader efforts to consolidate its base and reposition the NDC as a formidable force ahead of the upcoming elections.
