Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday directed a minor cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of two commissioners who intend to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The directive was announced in a statement by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu.
According to the statement, Princess Pat Ajudua, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, will now oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
Similarly, Mr Godknows Angele, Commissioner for Housing, has been assigned to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.
Aniagwu explained that the reshuffle became necessary after the resignation of Ms Orode Uduaghan, former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, and Mr ThankGod Trakiriowei, former Commissioner for Youth Development.
Both resigned to contest seats in the Delta State House of Assembly in the 2027 polls.
Governor Oborevwori thanked the outgoing commissioners for their service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.
The new supervisory arrangements take immediate effect, pending further announcements by the state government.
