The Bauchi State Police Command has heightened security measures and released dedicated emergency contact lines ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festivities scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib.
According to the statement, Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Bauchi State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
He also commended residents for their continued support and cooperation with security agencies in maintaining peace.
The Command has deployed adequate personnel, including conventional officers, tactical teams, and traffic personnel, to strategic locations such as Eid prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public places across all 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
These officers will work in synergy with sister security agencies and local vigilante groups to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.
The police warned criminal elements to steer clear of the state, vowing decisive action against anyone involved in thuggery, reckless driving, use of fireworks, or any other unlawful activities capable of disrupting public peace.
Parents and guardians were also urged to closely monitor their children and wards to prevent them from engaging in acts that could lead to arrest and prosecution.
Residents have been encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons, movements, or objects to the nearest police station or through the following emergency hotlines:
