Suspected bandits have attacked Kogari community in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting five people including the village head and several members of his family.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night when armed men invaded the community and took the victims into the bush, according to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine.
Those kidnapped are:
Village head, Bello Abdulkadir Kogari
His wife
His daughter
His sister
Another woman from the community
The attack has heightened fear among residents in the area, which continues to grapple with persistent insecurity and repeated kidnapping incidents across Nigeria’s North-West region.
No official confirmation from security agencies has been reported as of the time of this publication.
