The immediate past Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), Ibrahim Kashim, has purchased the governorship Expression of Interest form of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kashim confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday, describing the move as the formal beginning of his governorship bid.
He said the decision came after wide consultations with supporters across the state and reflects his commitment to delivering improved governance and development.
The former SSG explained that his aspiration is driven by the desire to strengthen service delivery in critical sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic development.
He also pledged to expand opportunities for youths and enhance living conditions for residents throughout Bauchi State.
Kashim recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the NDC to strengthen his political platform for the election.
He reiterated that his focus remains on promoting unity, sustainable development, and better governance in the state.
This development adds to the growing list of aspirants positioning themselves for the 2027 Bauchi governorship contest under different political platforms.
