Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, on Wednesday picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination forms ahead of the 2027 Bauchi State election.
The nomination forms, valued at N50 million, were purchased in Abuja, signaling Tuggar’s formal entry into the race to succeed Governor Bala Mohammed.
Tuggar, who served as Nigeria’s foreign minister from 2023 to 2025, is one of the first major aspirants to obtain the APC forms as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.
Party sources said his move has heightened interest in the Bauchi governorship contest, with more aspirants expected to join the race in the coming weeks.
