President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Governing Council of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has been appointed as Chairman of the 16-member council.
Other statutory members include the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General of Police, and representatives from the Federal Ministries of Education, Finance, and Justice.
The President also appointed six persons to represent the six geopolitical zones:
North East: Babagana Zannah Adam (DCP Rtd.)
North Central: Emmanuel Torkuma Manger
North West: Maigari Abati Dikko (DIG Rtd.)
South East: Dubem A. Obaze (KSM)
South West: Ajibogere Toyin
South South: Udom Udo Ekpoudom (DIG Rtd.)
The Commandant of the Academy, the Provost, and the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training will serve as ex-officio members, while the Registrar will serve as Secretary of the Council.
