Tinubu Meets Plateau Stakeholders Behind Closed Doors Over Security, Governance

President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with key stakeholders from Plateau State as part of ongoing efforts to address security challenges and governance issues in the region.

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, and community representatives from Plateau.

While details of the discussions were not disclosed, sources said the talks focused on recent violence in parts of the state, peace-building efforts, and federal-state collaboration on development.

Presidential aides described the engagement as “frank and constructive,” noting that Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace and stability in Plateau.

The President has held similar consultations with stakeholders from other states experiencing security concerns, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen dialogue between the federal government and local leaders.

No official communiqué was issued at the end of the meeting, but participants told reporters it was a “step in the right direction” toward resolving lingering tensions in the state.
