Tinubu Commissions New NRS Corporate Headquarters ‘Revenue House’ in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday officially commissioned Revenue House, the new ultra-modern corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) located in the Central Business District of Abuja.

The commissioning ceremony marks a major milestone in the reform of Nigeria’s tax administration, signifying the full transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the newly established Nigeria Revenue Service.

The gigantic, state-of-the-art building described as a 21-storey facility was completed after over 20 years of delay.

It was approved more than 14 years ago and finally delivered under the Tinubu administration.

The new headquarters is expected to provide a modern, conducive working environment for staff, enhance operational efficiency, and support the digitalisation of tax processes.

Speaking on the significance of the project, officials noted that the facility reflects the administration’s commitment to institutional strengthening, policy continuity, and improved revenue mobilisation as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The establishment of the NRS follows the signing of the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Act 2025 by President Tinubu in June 2025.

The agency, under Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji, is tasked with unifying revenue collection efforts, broadening the tax base, and reducing the nation’s over-dependence on oil revenue.

The new headquarters is expected to serve as the operational nerve centre for driving transparency, efficiency, and better taxpayer services across the country.
