Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has said that ongoing hostilities involving Iran are directed at the country’s Islamic Republic system rather than its citizens.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Gumi stated that the conflict
is not against the Iranian people, adding that, in his view, Persians would
play a significant role in upholding Islam in the future.
He also cautioned against mocking the use of Allah’s name,
saying that ultimate authority rests with God.
“They are fighting the Islamic Republic, not the Iranian
people. In the end of times, the Persians will hold the flag of Islam, which
represents resistance to Evil. Therefore grief not, the end of Evil is nigh.
“As for mocking with Allah’s name. Allah the Almighty is
already in charge,” Gumi wrote.
Gumi’s remarks come amid comments by US President Donald
Trump, who issued a strongly worded warning to Iran in a post on Truth Social
earlier the same day.
