Taiwo ‘Ogogo‘ Hassan, the veteran actor, has weighed in on the tense encounter between Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele.
In viral clips from Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, Abraham was
seen approaching Akindele to greet her, but Akindele appeared to ignore the
gesture.
The moment sparked mixed reactions online, with some users
criticising Akindele’s response while others argued Abraham should not have
initiated the greeting if the two were not on good terms.
Reacting via an interview with Feel Right TV, Hassan said
the issue does not concern him and he prefers not to get involved in disputes
between women.
He suggested that such disagreements are often exaggerated,
making it difficult for outsiders to step in.
He questioned the basis of the disagreement, noting that
both actresses are already successful and would eventually resolve their
differences on their own.
“If Toyin and Funke have sense, they should know God has
favored them. I don’t interfere in women’s matter,” he said.
“Something that will happen that men will just laugh over,
if it happens to women, it is always worse than Hitler’s war so it is hard for
anybody to interfere.
“Any man that interferes is stupid. What is the reason for
the fight? God blessed the two of them already and the next thing they think is
right is to be fighting. Very soon they will come back to their senses. It is
not even my business.”
The rivalry between the filmmakers date back to 2021 after
the release of Abraham’s film ‘The Ghost and the Tout Too,’ which attracted
comparisons to Akindele’s box office hits.
In 2024, Abraham addressed the speculations, attributing any
perceived tension to industry competition and rumours.
