Shehu Sani Mocks David Mark’s ADC Protest, Calls Leaders “Old Hyenas in New Tigers’ Skin”

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has sharply criticised the recent protest organised by former Senate President David Mark and other leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a vehicle driven by personal political ambitions rather than genuine concern for Nigerians.

Sani, a vocal civil rights activist, dismissed the ADC leaders as “old hyenas in the garb of new tigers,” accusing them of lacking the moral credibility to speak for ordinary citizens.“Many of them have been in power and achieved nothing,” Sani said.

“Now they are masquerading as agents of change and opposition figures, even though they were part of the very system they are criticising today.”

He further labelled the group as “retrogressive forces camouflaging as opposition,” arguing that their sudden transformation into advocates of reform is suspicious.

“If they were messiahs or magicians, Nigeria would not be in the condition it is today,” Sani remarked, questioning the credibility of their current posturing.

The outspoken senator also alleged that several ADC leaders were among the architects of Nigeria’s current political challenges.

“They are the structural engineers who built the faulty system we have today,” he said.

Using a mechanical metaphor, Sani likened the party’s internal crises to “buying a used vehicle and battling engine problems.”

He advised that if they wanted a clean platform, they should have registered a fresh political party instead of struggling with an existing one.

Sani’s remarks come as opposition parties intensify activities and realignments ahead of future elections, with political observers closely watching developments in the evolving political landscape.
