Bashir Ahmad, former digital communications aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has amplified a strong appeal from constituents urging Yusuf Buhari, son of the late President, to run for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bashir Ahmad quoted the constituents directly: “The people of Daura, Sandamu and Mai’Adua Federal Constituency are calling on Yusuf Buhari, the son of our late boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, to heed their request and step forward to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections.”
He concluded the message with the prayer “Allah ya bada sa’a!” (May God grant success!).The call reflects the desire of residents in the late President Buhari’s home constituency to have his son represent them at the National Assembly, seen by many as a continuation of the family’s political legacy in the area.
As preparations for the 2027 polls gather momentum, the appeal is generating discussions among All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Katsina State. Yusuf Buhari is yet to make any official comment on the request.
