The Oyo State Government has approved the payment of bursaries totalling ₦153,500,000 to 307 law students of Oyo State origin for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The Secretary of the Oyo State Scholarship Board, Mr. Amos Akinyanju, disclosed this during a briefing in his office on Thursday.
According to Akinyanju, the bursary is aimed at easing the financial burden on the beneficiaries studying across the seven accredited law schools nationwide.
He announced that the screening exercise for the successful applicants will begin on Monday, April 27, and run through Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. daily.
The screening will take place at the Scholarship Board Room, Ground Floor, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Agodi, Ibadan.
Akinyanju provided the following screening schedule:
Monday, April 27: Students from Enugu and Yenagoa campuses
Tuesday, April 28: Students from Port Harcourt and Yola campuses
Wednesday, April 29: Students from Abuja and Kano campuses
Thursday, April 30: Students from Lagos campus
He urged all beneficiaries to strictly adhere to their assigned screening dates to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
The bursary approval is seen as a significant intervention by the Oyo State Government to support indigent law students from the state.
