Outrage as Kano Govt Distributes Branded Underwear to Women

The Kano State Government has come under heavy criticism following the distribution of women’s underwear branded with the image of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Photos and videos circulating on social media show women at a recent gathering, believed to be linked to an APC rally or early 2027 campaign activities, waving and displaying the branded panties.

The items reportedly feature the governor’s campaign-style portrait printed prominently on them.

The development has sparked widespread outrage and heated debate online, with many describing it as inappropriate, undignified, and disrespectful to women.

Critics have questioned the rationale behind using such personal items for political mobilization.

Some reports suggest the distribution was part of efforts to mobilize women ahead of future elections, while others claim it was an empowerment or outreach initiative.

NNPP supporters were said to have responded by flaunting rival branded versions featuring Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The controversy has dominated discussions on social media platforms, with mixed reactions ranging from condemnation to ridicule and calls for the government to clarify or address the matter.

As of now, the Kano State Government is yet to issue an official statement on the viral reports. Further details are expected as the story continues to generate public interest.
