Osinbajo Shares Life-Changing Moment That Led Him to Quit Alcohol

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has recounted the pivotal personal experience that prompted him to stop drinking alcohol entirely.

In a candid video shared from a recent church event, Osinbajo revealed that even after becoming a born-again Christian and serving as a preacher, he continued to drink alcohol moderately.

He initially justified it by referencing the biblical account of Jesus turning water into wine. The turning point occurred one Sunday after he had finished preaching in church.

He stopped at a restaurant to buy alcohol, but upon entering, he noticed that several patrons who were drinking immediately began hiding their bottles and glasses upon seeing him.

This moment struck him deeply. It made him reflect on his influence as a Christian leader and the message his actions were sending.

He realized that while all things may be lawful, not all things are expedient or edifying. From that day onward, Osinbajo said he has not touched alcohol, a decision he made many years ago, including during a referenced experience in Mogadishu.

He described the choice as transformative for his faith and personal life, emphasizing living out one's beliefs consistently, even in private matters.

The video has sparked conversations online about faith, personal conviction, leadership by example, and individual choices regarding alcohol consumption. Osinbajo stressed that his decision was personal and not a blanket directive for others.

This story highlights Osinbajo's openness about his spiritual journey and the small but significant moments that shape character and public influence.
