Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is chairing the National Summit of All Opposition Political Party Leaders today, Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The high-profile gathering is holding at the Banquet Hall of the Oyo State Government House and is hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The summit brings together leaders from major opposition parties with the theme: “That We May Work Together for a United Opposition to Sustain Our Democracy.”
Obasanjo’s role as chairman adds significant weight to the event, which is expected to focus on fostering collaboration, addressing challenges to democracy, and exploring ways to build a stronger, united opposition front ahead of future elections.
The summit follows the arrival of prominent opposition figures, including former Kano State Governor and NNPP National Leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who arrived in Ibadan earlier today.
Key discussions are anticipated on sustainable democracy, good governance, and strategies for effective opposition politics in Nigeria.
