The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North-East (Operation Hadin Kai), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, disclosed this achievements during a briefing to the Minister of Defence, Major General Christopher Musa (rtd), and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle, at the Theatre Command headquarters in Maiduguri.
The successes stemmed from sustained offensive and defensive operations that maintained pressure on terrorist groups, degraded their capabilities, and prevented planned attacks.
Major General Abubakar assured the visiting ministers of the troops' high morale and unwavering commitment to decisively defeating terrorism in the region, while outlining future operational projections.
The Defence Minister reiterated the federal government's resolve to sustain military pressure on terrorist and bandit groups through enhanced collaboration with state authorities and other stakeholders. The ministers' visit to Maiduguri also included courtesy calls on the Shehu of Borno and state officials, as well as a wreath-laying at the military cemetery to honour fallen troops.
