Nigerian Army Crushes Bandit Strongholds in Bauchi Forest

The Nigerian Army has launched a major offensive against bandit groups in Bauchi State, successfully overrunning several criminal camps and dealing a heavy blow to their operations through coordinated clearance missions.

In a decisive operation, troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, stormed Dajin Madam Forest.

The mission resulted in the complete destruction of two notorious bandit enclaves the Azuge and Hari camps significantly degrading the criminals' presence in the area.

Several bandits were neutralized during the intense operation, while others fled in disarray under heavy military pressure.

Troops also detained 6 women and 13 children, identified as family members of the fleeing bandits.

To cripple the criminals' mobility, the soldiers destroyed several motorcycles used by the bandits.

Items recovered from the camps included an AK-47 magazine, tramadol drugs, a police uniform, multiple military uniforms, and two horses suggesting the bandits were attempting to impersonate security forces to carry out their activities.

Following the successful raid, troops have established a strong presence in the forest to consolidate their gains and prevent the return of displaced bandit elements.

In a separate follow-up operation at Mainamaji, troops encountered no resistance, an indication that recent airstrikes and ground offensives have substantially weakened bandit activities in the region.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its unwavering commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements until peace and security are fully restored in Bauchi State.

The military urged members of the public to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing operations.
