Twenty-four hours after publicly naming Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred successor, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule took him to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday.
The duo were received by the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Governor Sule had on Thursday unveiled Senator Wadada, a former lawmaker, as his anointed candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.
The meeting with President Tinubu is seen as a strategic move to secure federal backing for Wadada’s ambition ahead of the next general elections.
