Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has maintained his claim that the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde is plotting to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
Fayose, who first raised the alarm on Sunday, alleged that the plot to dethrone the monarch would begin this week.
Following denials from both Governor Makinde and Olubadan Ladoja, who described the allegation as baseless, Fayose doubled down on his claim.
In a post on his official X handle on Tuesday, Fayose urged sceptics to “keep their fingers crossed” as events unfold.
“Those who are still in doubt about Governor Seyi Makinde’s plot to remove the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, should just keep their fingers crossed and follow unfolding events,” he wrote.
To support his assertion, Fayose pointed out that after denying the plot, the state government has now begun accusing the Olubadan of “plotting to impeach Governor Makinde” and being partisan actions he said validate his earlier warning that allegations were being prepared against the king.
The controversy has sparked reactions across Oyo State, with stakeholders divided over the claims. Governor Makinde and Olubadan Ladoja have both dismissed Fayose’s allegations as unfounded rumours.
