Residents of Kano State on Wednesday flooded major streets in celebration following the nomination of Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor.
Crowds of supporters, including youths and party faithful, took to the streets of Kano metropolis in jubilation, chanting songs and displaying banners to welcome the development. Vehicular movement was temporarily slowed in some areas as the celebrations spread across key locations in the city.
Murtala Sule Garo, a former commissioner and prominent APC chieftain in the state, was named as the deputy governorship nominee ahead of the next electoral cycle.
His nomination has drawn wide reactions from political stakeholders and residents who described him as a grassroots politician with strong ties to the people.
Supporters said the choice reflects confidence in his capacity and track record in public service. The mood across parts of the state capital remained festive as groups continued to mobilize in solidarity with the nominee.
