Enugu West Senatorial District has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah, declaring strong support for their re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The district staged a high-profile rally on Wednesday, described by organisers as a strategic gathering aimed at demonstrating unity, grassroots strength, and political direction for the state and nation.
In a statement, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee, Hon. Emeka Aneke, said the event is designed to project the unified voice of the people by bringing together political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, youth groups, and women organisations across the district.
“This rally is a historic convergence of leadership and grassroots will,” Aneke said. “It is a bold affirmation of confidence in leadership that delivers results, and a clear commitment to continuity, stability, and accelerated progress.”
Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Dr. C.O.C. Egumgbe, described the rally as a defining political moment for the district.
He noted that it will feature goodwill messages from key figures, including the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, National Assembly members, traditional rulers, and party leaders.
The formal endorsement ceremony will be presided over by Senator Osita Ngwu, who represents Enugu West Senatorial District.
Representatives of major political and socio-institutional blocs are expected to publicly ratify the endorsement following wide consultations across the district.
“The rally will culminate in an official and binding declaration, signalling a unanimous, unequivocal, and irreversible endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah for a second term,” Egumgbe stated.
Governor Peter Mbah is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event, highlighting his administration’s achievements in transformative governance, economic growth, and inclusive development.
Organisers say the rally goes beyond a mere political gathering, positioning Enugu West as a decisive force in shaping the political future of Enugu State and Nigeria.
They described it as “a mandate backed by the full weight of the people.”
