‘Bro forgot to switch handle’ — reactions trail ADC Vanguard’s X post advertising property

ADC Vanguard, a support group that claims affiliation with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has published a post on X advertising the sale of a residential building located in the Apo area of Abuja, the nation’s capital.

In the post shared on Tuesday, the support group said the five-bedroom residential building, located withing the Apo Legislative Quarters, is valued at N750 million.

The group had gained a large following on X by posting content about the activities of ADC, making the real estate post a surprise to many followers.

The post generated numerous reactions from social media users, with many questioning the appropriateness of the content.

In August 2025, Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, cautioned the support group against attributing fabricated statements to him.

“Dear ADC Vanguard, please stop fabricating statements and attributing them to me. I have my own social media accounts where I can share my views and opinions,” el-Rufai said.

“I am going to disown the statements you created and attributed, not because I necessarily disagree with the message, but because I never made them. That is not the honest way to represent our party or gain traction. Please stop it forthwith.”

ADC Vanguard had, in a now-deleted post, attributed to el-Rufai, negative remarks about the President Bola Tinubu administration.

On April 1, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) derecognised the factions of the ADC led by David Mark and Nafiu Bala.

The electoral umpire anchored its decision on the March 12 order of the court of appeal on the ADC leadership crisis.

The Mark-led leadership rejected the decision of INEC.
