Bianca Ojukwu appreciates Tinubu for elevation to foreign minister



Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu following her appointment as Nigeria’s minister of foreign affairs.

 

The appointment was announced on Wednesday. Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who previously served as minister of state for foreign affairs, would step into the role vacated by Yusuf Tuggar.

 

In a statement, the minister said she is “truly honoured” to assume the position and described the president’s decision as a humbling display of trust in her abilities.

 

“I am truly humbled by your trust and confidence in my abilities,” she said.

 

 

She pledged to build on the administration’s existing foreign policy framework, committing to the “4D Foreign Policy Priorities” of the Renewed Hope Agenda as well as citizen diplomacy initiatives.

 

“I look forward to contributing even more to the continued success of the 4D Foreign Policy Priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda, our citizen diplomacy imperatives,” she said.

 

Odumegwu-Ojukwu also reaffirmed her dedication to protecting and advancing Nigeria’s interests on the global stage.

 

The diplomat brings significant experience to the role, having previously served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain and Ghana, among other diplomatic postings.
