Yinka Alade, Coordinator of the City Boy Movement in Yewa North Local Government Area and Senior Legislative Aide to Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, has rallied Ogun State youths to reject political violence and actively safeguard democratic values ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a strategic stakeholders’ meeting of the City Boy Movement held in Ayetoro on Wednesday, Alade reaffirmed the youths’ commitment to peaceful political engagement and responsible participation in governance.
“We are determined as youths to protect our democracy and ensure that our actions strengthen, rather than weaken, democratic institutions,” Alade said in a statement issued on Thursday.
He urged Nigerian youths not to allow themselves to be manipulated for disruptive or violent activities as electioneering heats up.“The future of our democracy lies in our hands as young people. We must refuse to be used for violence or political thuggery and instead become ambassadors of peace and development.”
Other leaders at the meeting, including Ogun West Coordinator of the movement, Ayodeji Idowu; APC Chairman in Yewa North, Chief Kunle Adeosun; and Hon. Bayo Orebiyi, praised the City Boy Movement and its national initiator, Seyi Tinubu, for creating a platform that channels youthful energy toward positive political participation and grassroots development.
The stakeholders pledged to mobilise massive support for President Bola Tinubu, the APC’s gubernatorial candidate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), and other party candidates in the 2027 polls, expressing strong confidence in the party’s prospects.
