The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has distributed 47 Sharon cars and 282 Boxer motorcycles to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North Senatorial District.
The items were also extended to former party officials in the zone as part of Senator Barau’s ongoing empowerment initiative.
Speaking at the distribution event on Wednesday, the Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate, Muhammad Abdullahi, said the gesture was designed to support beneficiaries in becoming self-reliant and improving their livelihoods.
“Kano North Senatorial District is blessed with the Deputy President of the Senate, who keeps distributing goods that stimulate human development and make life easier for the beneficiaries,” Abdullahi stated.
He appealed to the recipients not to sell the vehicles and motorcycles but to use them to generate income.Shittu Madaki, Media Aide to Senator Barau, confirmed that “47 cars, 282 motorcycles and more goodies are coming soon.”
The State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Salihu Takai, described the intervention as a grassroots version of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at removing poverty from the people.
“This is not the first of his interventions on human and capital development for his Kano North Senatorial District, and will certainly not be the last,” Takai added.
The beneficiaries included APC local government chairmen, their secretaries, and other party officials in the senatorial zone.
