APP Dismisses Court Ruling Nullifying Party’s Nationwide Congresses

The newly inaugurated Imo State chapter of the Action Peoples Party (APP) has rejected reports of a Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara State, nullifying the party’s nationwide congresses.

According to the reports, Justice Hamza Mohamed of the Federal High Court allegedly nullified all congresses conducted and supervised by the national leadership of the APP, led by Barrister Uchenna Nnadi.

The ruling was said to have implications for the Imo State chapter and other states. The Imo State APP conducted its congress on Sunday in April 2026, alongside other states across the federation.

The exercise produced Hon. Ernest Njesi as the State Chairman and other executive officers. In a statement issued on Wednesday night, the Imo State Publicity Secretary of the party, Ambassador Steve Nnadi, described the report as false.

He maintained that no such judgment or ex parte order exists from any court in Zamfara State.

“No court nullified the APP congresses nationwide, including the Imo State chapter, or deregistered the party,” Nnadi stated.

He urged party members and the general public to disregard the “fake news from the pit of hell,” which he claimed was the handiwork of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in Imo State.

“It is indeed a cacophony and blabbing of an outgoing failed government which must not be taken seriously in its entirety,” he added.

Nnadi further argued that the Federal High Court in Zamfara State lacks jurisdiction to entertain any ex parte motion brought by a “faceless” Kelechi Anyanwu, who he said is unknown to the party.

The Imo APP leadership insisted that its recently concluded congress remains valid and unaffected by any court action.
