A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has criticised emerging political ambitions against Senator Ned Nwoko’s second-term bid, describing them as self-serving, unnecessary, and harmful to the peace and development of Delta North Senatorial District.
Eboh, a former Delta State Commissioner, made the remarks during an interview in Abuja on Thursday, April 16, 2026. He said Senator Nwoko enjoys strong goodwill and massive support across Delta North (Anioma).
While noting that political ambition is normal in a democracy, he warned against turning politics into “a family enterprise and a tool for power control and manipulation.”
The APC leader urged the people of Aniocha/Oshimili and the entire Delta North to reject what he called “the inordinate ambition of some Shylock politicians” driven by selfish interests. He cautioned that such personality-driven ambitions could spark avoidable rivalry and division in the district.
Eboh praised Senator Nwoko’s performance, citing achievements in rural roads, electrification, education, water supply, and empowerment programmes.
He also highlighted Nwoko’s unprecedented advocacy for Anioma identity and recognition.“Senator Nwoko has not only met expectations but surpassed them. He deserves re-election,” Eboh said, stressing that lawmaking remains the core duty of a senator.
He described Nwoko as a unifying and progressive leader and appealed to constituents not to distract him with unnecessary contestations.
The APC chieftain also called for continued support for Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
