The Anambra State Government has invited qualified civil servants to express interest in appointment as Permanent Secretaries in the state’s public service.
Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo approved the process, which was formally announced through a public service notice signed by the Head of Service, Ngozi Iwouno, and dated March 27, 2026.
According to the notice, interested officers must meet the following criteria:Be a confirmed civil servant in the Anambra State Public Service, or a qualified officer on the directorate cadre from outside the Anambra State Civil Service.
Hold a position on the directorate cadre, not below Deputy Director and not above Director.Have a minimum of two years of service remaining before reaching the mandatory retirement age or years of service.
Applicants are required to visit the Anambra State Government website at https://www.anambrastate.gov.ng/, fill the Expression of Interest form, print it, and submit a hard copy to the Office of the Head of Service in Awka.The deadline for submission of applications is Tuesday, April 8, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the next stage of the selection process.
The notice stated: “The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has graciously approved that expressions of interest be invited from suitably qualified civil servants for appointment into the position of Permanent Secretary in the Anambra State Public Service.”
This latest exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s civil service with competent officers. The number of positions to be filled was not specified in the announcement.
Interested and eligible officers have been advised to ensure their submissions reach the Head of Service’s office on or before the deadline.
