Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House in Bauchi.
According to Channels Television, the meeting was strictly
between the three political figures, with state party executives excluded.
The media was also barred from covering the session, which
was held behind closed doors.
Efforts to get comments from the participants proved
abortive as both Mohammed and Yilwatda declined interviews, describing the
meeting as a private engagement.
The development comes barely 24 hours after Governor
Mohammed signaled interest in joining the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
His position followed a visit to Bauchi by a delegation of
the party led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF,
Babachir Lawal.
