US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has disclosed that President Donald Trump has full authority regarding the timeline of the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Hegseth made this known on Monday while speaking during a
press conference at the Pentagon.
The 45-year-old American was responding to questions from
reporters that had to do with the potential end of US military operations in
Iran.
This follows after Trump had recently suggested that the
situation in Iran could persist for “four to five weeks.”
But Hegseth has now reduced the importance of this timeline,
explaining that the final decision rests with the US President.
“The President [Donald Trump] has all the latitude in the
world to talk about how long it [the US operations in Iran] might last or might
not take,” Hegseth said.
“It could be four weeks, two or even six weeks, and it could
move up or back.”
