Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have arrested a suspected terrorist ammunition courier and recovered 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during an intelligence-led sting operation in Plateau State.
The operation took place in the Kuka community, Shendam Local Government Area, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m. The troops, operating under Sector 9, Sub-Sector 91, successfully apprehended the suspect based on credible intelligence.
According to security sources, the arrested individual is believed to be a member of a terrorist group active in the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State and neighboring regions. The suspect reportedly sustained a gunshot wound during an attack in Benue State in 2024, which has been noted in preliminary investigations.
The recovered items include 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, intended for supply to terrorist elements. Both the suspect and the seized ammunition are currently in custody, with ongoing investigations to uncover further details about the courier network and potential links to broader criminal activities in the region.
