The United States Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth, has said Tuesday will witness the most intense day of strikes on Iran since the start of the military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury.
Hegseth disclosed this during a media briefing on Tuesday,
stating that the operation is progressing with what he described as
“overwhelming and unrelenting focus” on its objectives.
According to him, the primary goals of the operation include
destroying Iran’s missile stockpiles, missile launchers and its defence
industrial base responsible for producing missiles.
He added that the campaign also seeks to destroy Iran’s
naval capabilities and permanently prevent the country from acquiring nuclear
weapons.
Hegseth said the operation is being executed with “ruthless
precision” and with full military authority.
The defence secretary also revealed that Tuesday’s strikes
would involve the highest number of fighter jets, bombers and coordinated
attacks since the beginning of the operation.
“We will not relent until the enemy is totally and
decisively defeated, but we do so. We do so on our timeline and at our
choosing.
“For example, today will be yet again, our most intense day
of strikes inside Iran, the most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes.
Intelligence more refined and better than ever. So that’s on one hand.
“On the other hand, the last 24 hours have seen Iran fire
the lowest number of missiles they’ve been capable of firing,” Hegseth said.
